[ARC 2001] Digital Media and Design 2
Instructor: Professor Seung Wan Hong, hosted by the Department of Architecture, Inha University
This course is a continuation of Digital Media I, focusing on advanced 3D digital modeling and representation techniques. It explores the use of various digital media throughout the holistic design process, from creative ideation to digital fabrication. The course includes theory, practice, and design studio work on real projects, systematically connecting them to explore new forms and spaces based on numerical control, performance evaluation and analysis of designs using virtual environments and simulation platforms, concretizing design concepts and automating design representation with Building Information Modeling (BIM), and systematic learning of digital fabrication techniques.

[ARC 3002] Advanced Digital Design
Instructor: Professor Seung Wan Hong, hosted by the Department of Architecture, Inha University
In this course, students experiment with design projects (prototypes and hypotheses) that require both creative form and functionality, applying the latest simulation techniques based on modeling tools, virtual reality equipment, and artificial intelligence. Students will understand the relationship between numerics and form through modelers, creating new shapes not previously experienced. They will model and fabricate user behavior, exploring the qualitative and quantitative relationships between the physical metrics of the architectural environment and human behavior through virtual reality and human behavior simulations.

[ARC 4309] Building Design and Construction (Capstone Design)
Instructor: Professor Seung Wan Hong, hosted by the Department of Architecture, Inha University
In this course, students learn about the integrated representation and documentation provided by BIM modeling based on architectural semantics and rules, and the various ways to present design outcomes. The course covers quantitative analysis such as cost estimation and energy analysis using BIM models, qualitative evaluation methods using immersive virtual environments for barrier-free design and evacuation planning, construction procedures and management methods in design stages using linked software, and practices remote collaboration using BIM systems and virtual environments.
